Area Veterans Honored At Freedom Flotilla

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Local military veterans were honored with a ride north on the Hudson River as part of the Freedom Flotilla event on Saturday, according to HVNN.com.

A group of about 30 ships hosting veterans ranging from members of the Wounded Warrior Project to World War II veterans made the trek north, HVNN.com.said.

Boats from Newburgh, Cortlandt and Ossining partnered together to make the event happen, reported HVNN.com.

When the boats docked at the Riverfront Marina in Newburgh, the event concluded with jet-ski racing and a dinner honoring vets, HVNN.com noted.
