Dutchess County Sheriff Named To Donald Trump's Transition Team

Dutchess County Sheriff Adrian "Butch" Anderson will join President-Elect Donald Trump’s transition team.

Anderson, who served as honorary co-chair of Trump's New York campaign, has been named to the transition team's Executive Committee. 

Anderson was born and raised in Pawling, where he excelled as an athlete at Pawling High School. He continues to live in Pawling, where he served as mayor from 1983-1991.

Anderson was appointed deputy sheriff with the Dutchess County Sheriffs Office in 1970 before being promoted to detective and then assigned to the major case squad.  

He was appointed undersheriff in 1993 and was first elected sheriff of Dutchess in 1999. 

Anderson appeared with Trump at a rally at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie in April.

Yorktown High School graduate Dan Scavino, a resident of Hopewell Junction, Trump's social media director, is also a member of the transition team.

Trump has no shortage of ties to the Hudson Valley.

He owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville, Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor and a private estate in Bedford.

The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. TrumpState Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
