What Makes It "Strong": The recently opened cafe, owned by a local councilman in Fishkill, prides itself on sourcing everything as local as possible. Coffee is roasted in Pine Plains and Ugly Mug Manager Breanna Keeler likes to say the coffee doesn't have "frequent flier miles."

"We keep our neighbors working," she said. "Our dairies, our tea provider, our bakers, our coffee roasters, our farmers all benefit from us being open."

Pastries and other goodies are also on the menu.
