Veterans Arts Showcase Comes to Hyde Park's FDR Library, Museum

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will be hosting the third annual Veteran Arts Showcase this weekend with exhibits opening at 5:30 p.m. Friday, including a performance by The Veterans Theater Project called "Leaving Theater."

The weekend's events will take place in the library's Henry A. Wallace Center at 4079 Albany Post Road.

Saturday's programs, which begin at 10 a.m., include a free writers workshop and a presentation of "Warrior's Voices and the Long Road Home." The presentation will be followed by a discussion and an open jam with veteran musicians.

Sunday's events, which also begin at 10 a.m., include a Core Stories session. Organizers request that anyone wishing to attend that session, which starts at 2 p.m., pre-register in advance.

The weekend is set to close out with a performance by Nimham Mountain Singers at 4 p.m. Sunday.
