RHINEBECK, N.Y. – Author and acclaimed musician Robert Burke Warren is set to perform songs and read from his debut novel “Perfectly Broken” on Saturday, May 21, at Oblong Books & Music.
The 6 p.m. performance is to highlight Warren’s skills as an actor, musician and writer
After performing and reading, Warren is to participate in a question and answer session.
“All I’ve done has been preparation for 'Perfectly Broken,'” the author said.
According to a statement, “all” means touring the world with 80s garage rockers the Fleshtones, writing songs for both multi-Grammy winner Rosanne Cash and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, playing the lead in the West End jukebox musical “Buddy: the Buddy Holly Story,” touring and recording as children’s musician Uncle Rock, writing acclaimed essays and arts pieces for multiple outlets, and surviving until middle age.
Since its release in March, “Perfectly Broken” has garnered raves, according to the statement.
