FDR Library In Hyde Park Celebrates United Nations Anniversary

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will host a series of events to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the United Nations.

From Saturday through Nov. 23, the library will display the original Charter of the United Nations on loan from the National Archives. The Charter can be viewed with regular museum admission. 

The library will host "The Roosevelts' United Nations: Then and Now" at 3 p.m. on Oct. 24. The forum will explore the history of the United Nations and its successes, failures and challenges of tomorrow. To register for this annual fall forum, call (845)-486-7745. 

As part of the international "Turn the World UN Blue" initiative, the building will be illuminated in blue night on Saturday night.
