Dutchess Residents Can Learn How To Prepare For A Disaster

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dutchess County residents can learn how to better prepare for a disaster during an upcoming Citizen's Preparedness Training class on Thursday, May 4.

Residents will have a chance to take part in a free emergency preparedness class in May.

During the training, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Town Hall, participants will learn how to prepare for any type of disaster and how to quickly recover following the disaster.

Held by the Dutchess County Departments of Emergency Response and Behavioral and Community Health, each family or participant will receive a free starter kit as part of the training.

The free event will also include officials with the Dutchess County’s Medical Reserve Corps and the Dutchess County Animal Response Team.
