Participants are welcome to join this event, a partnership between the library and Soldiers' Angels, to fill 25 stockings that will be donated to service members and veterans this season.
All ages and families are welcome to help with the initiative at 6 p.m. at the library.
In advance of Thursday's activity, the following donations mus be brought to the library by Tuesday, Dec. 6:
Slim Jims or Beef Jerky, packages of holiday nuts, play cards, puzzle book (crosswords, Sudoku, Word Find), holiday themed writing pens or pencils, holiday candy, candy canes, peanut brittle, socks, travel sized games, card games (Uno, Phase 10), stress balls (holiday themed preferred), gloves (winter; one size fits all), single serving cookie packages, apple cider packets, hot chocolate, small notepads, other holiday themed items.
All food items should be store bought. The items may be given to staff at the front desk.
Registration is required for Thursday's stocking filling activity. To register and for information, call the library at (845) 724-3414.
Kids encouraged to write letters and make cards for the stockings.
