POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The 44th annual Railroad Exposition is set for Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center, 14 Civic Center Plaza.

Proceeds from the event, presented by the Hudson Valley Railroad Society (HVRRS), a nonprofit organization, will benefit the ongoing restoration and operation of the 1914 Hyde Park Railroad Station Museum.

On display Sunday will be 20,000 square feet of operating scale model train layouts, including tiny Z-scale trains, 1 1/2-inch scale trains, and a variety of N-, HO-, O- and G-scale trains.

Among the featured brands scheduled to be on hand are Lionel trains, trolleys and Thomas the Tank Engine trains for younger enthusiasts.

The Old Newburgh Model Railroad Club, Albany N-Trak and the National Model Railroad Association all are expected to take part.

There will be hands-on expositions for children, train films, and railroad clinics. Another popular feature of the show is the model railroad flea market, with dozens of vendor tables selling new and used model railroad equipment and more.

The event runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Refreshments will be available. Tickets will be available at the door and cost $5. Children under 12 will be admitted for $2.
